Ladyboys go through a transition process as they go from living as a male to that of a full time female.  In the early stages of the process they are often referred to as a femboy, as they are just learning about the transition and haven’t taken any hormones or had any surgery yet.

The transition process can last for years.  They take female hormones, get breast enlargement surgery, cosmetic surgery, silicone injections, learn how to walk, talk, and act like a female.   Some go the full route and have sexual reassignment surgery or SRS.  There is no turning back at this point.

Where can I meet Ladyboys in Thailand?

The main places to meet ladyboys are in the cities of Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket. They have the largest concentrations of kathoey of the major cities. A lot of them work in the bar scene and are professional. Meaning they go with customers for money. Some work in the ladyboy cabaret’s, while others try to live a normal life, working a normal job in restaurants or hotels. Most of the Pattaya ladyboys can be found in the bars and gogo clubs.
